White hande pure bristle

Price: £16.00

This superb brush is completely hand made using 100% Pure Boar Bristles. The brush is about 100mm (4 inches) tall overall, and the bristle lenght is 45mm (1.75 inches). The bristles measure 20mm (0.75 inches) across at the base. The white handle is designed to match the white of our porcelain shaving soap pots. Featuring our brand name of 'Dr. Dulcamara', these brushes are exclusively made for Pots & Potions by RA Rooney & Sons Ltd, London. Each razor comes packed in its own box

Shavers prefer to use a shaving brush as they provide a close, comfortable and enjoyable shave. At Pots & Potions, we use pure boar bristle in our brushes as they maintain a high water retention capacity on account of their fibrous bristle. This holds significant amounts of water, which mixes with the soap in our shaving soap pots to produce a rich and effective lather. The more water a brush holds, the fuller and richer a lather will be. Thicker and more emollient lather translates to less razor skipping and dragging.

Bringing a shave brush across one's skin results in an exfoliation effect, removing the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface. The greatest benefit from shaving brush use is the ability to soften and lift facial hair before a shave. Applying shaving cream by hand mats hair or raises it unevenly.  However, using a Shaving brush involves a circular motion to produce a suitable lather for a shave, raising the hair evenly. Therefore, a razor does not need to be pressed firmly against the skin in order to provide a close shave.
