Brown Windsor Soap was made famous by its award-winning showing at the Great Exhibition of 1851. By the end of the Victorian era, just about every household in the country would have stocked Brown Windsor Soap. Traditionally, the soap was perfumed with the following essential oils.
- Bergamot oil – reputed to be helpful in relieving anxiety, stress and tension.
- Caraway oil – is noted for its antiseptic and astringent properties.
- Cinnamon oil – is regarded as being a stimulant and tonic.
- Clove oil – is often used to relieve bruises, burns and cuts.
We are the only Windsor based company still making Brown Windsor Soap.
